Gok @ Simply Be Lingerie AW12 Review

Since the press images were release online, I have been lusting after the whole new AW12 Gok range and now it is released, I have been frantically paying of my last purchases on my Simply Be account so I can order some fabulous items from the range.

The campaign images are utterly fabulous fantastic pin ups!
I would have leapt at the chance to get this but I cant find it in my size, so will have to stick to the pretty knickers and bras.

As soon as I saw the press images, I began paying off my account asap so I could order something from the collection, not easy on my current budget, but it is getting there, so when the wonderful Hannah from the new PR company handling the Gok launches came to me and offered me the change to try something from the range I was so so excited, and knew what it needed to be.

The price is excellent!

I asked for it to be sent in a 38G as this is as close to my usual size as I can get, when it arrived I was happy to find the fit pretty good, it doesn't quite sit flush with my chest at the central gore but over all pretty good a 38H would have been perfect if they went to the H cup.

As you can see it encompasses my ample assets petty darn well, I may try this in the 40G if it comes back into stock as I really love it and might need 2 for the amount I plan on wearing it :)

The material that the bra is made from is so soft, I hardly felt it on my skin. The straps are fully extendable but made out of an elasticated material so were quite big on me, but with adjustments I made them work, the did slip slightly and get longer, I prefer straps with a bit of embroidery on them as it give it something to grip to, but it wast fast so only needed to adjust once in the day.

The blue on white dotty pattern is divine!

I was also sent the high waisted briefs to match, no photos of me in them i am afraid as my mosquito bites have been so bad, no one wants to see that! but the fit perfectly and look amazing on!

I am also going to get myself the Liquorice Racer back bra too as it is a lovely alternative to a plain black bra.

Included in the campaign pack were these two images of the Gok slips and it made want one even more, I don't wear shaping underwear to look slimmer, i just like the smooth outline they give me under clothing.

This wear your own bra one is fabulous as it means I can wear it even if it doesn't come in my cup size, but I am holding onto the hope Gok will release one with shorts attached instead of the skirt as it is important for me to stop the old leg rub!

Please though Gok make it with the slit opening underneath and not poppers as I hate them :)

Take a look at the whole range HERE as it is fabulous!

Gok Wan for Simply Yours Launch

Today has been such an amazing day!

A couple of weeks ago I received an exciting Email into my inbox, inviting me to the Launch event of the new Gok Wan Shapewear range for Simply Yours.

So this morning at 6am I dragged my backside out of my lovely warm bed, got ready and headed for london.

The event was held in the very swanky W hotel in leicester square in a stunning suite overlooking the square itself and the Odeon cinema (No red carpet today though)

When I arrived the gorgeous girls from the Simply Be/Yours team were on hand to show us up to the suite and get a drink, Charlotte from the Simply Be/ Yours team, came over and kept me company and we chatted for a while until my wonderful fellow bloggers arrived.

Gok arrived in the room and I admit I almost had a full on fan girl SQUEE moment, but I controlled myself but nearly died when he came over and just casually introduced himself and began chatting to us about his new range.

Goks take on his new range -

He called it his Wall of fame range, he has gone back to his original styles, stating that women had been asking him to bring them back as they loved them and wanted more in the same styles.

What he has done is brought the range out in gorgeous new colours, called Crush, Blush and Slate, his idea being that he hates the idea of them being designed to hide our bodies as this is disempowering to women, what he wanted was a range that women could feel sexy and proud to be seen in.

The information from the PR company

Me and the amazing Gok Wan

I have to say I really love the collection, it is simply, sexy and the colours are divine and I would love to own some when it is released, I think for me the only thing missing is a full body with shorts attached, as I prefer them to the slips.

The hotel room was stunning, it was apparently a suite, the sofa you can see, is in a circle on a turntable, it kind of made me think of a 70's porn film but it was pretty amazing.

Rosie is totally in love with Gok, but hey who isn't!

The fabulous Gok and his agent and you can also just make out his gorgeous assistant Mark in the background behind the curtain, who mans the helm on twitter @goksworld. on the left is Sheena of Chase PR who did a fantastic job making sure we all got pictures and that he met with everyone. Her dress was also gorgeous!

The fabulous Lauren and Georgina.

The promotional poster for the range, the model is stunning!

I got to meet the lovely Naomi again and for the first time the wonderful Laura.

The Gorgeous Editor of Slink magazine Rivkie, who was so lovely, I want to work for her one day when I grow up :)

And Last photo for now, the wonderful Gok. xx

I will update once I know the exact launch date but I believe it is sometime around March.

Hope you enjoy the pictures, I loved my day, thank you again to the wonderful Charlotte for looking after us and the awesome Chinese in China Town.

2011 what a year!

What a year.

Well it is 2.27 am and I cant sleep so instead of writing this post later today I will have a go at it now!
This will include a small discussion of my depression do not read if you do not want too!

2011 has been an amazing year and a horrible year all in one, it has been our first full year in our new home after having to leave a house we loved due to psychotic neighbours, I came here suffering from severe depression and agoraphobia and spent the first 6 months pretty much locked in our house.
With a little work and help from the people who love me I begun to venture out into the world with people for support and have been building on it ever since!

The biggest and most positive change for me came through finally getting the courage to blog, I have been passionate about fashion since I was a teenager and my aunt used to take me shopping to amazing wholesale warehouses, but after years of feeling down about myself I just stopped trying but with my increased positivity and confidence this year I am slowly learning to love it more and more.
The people I have met through blogging have also been an amazing help and support in finding my feet and I seriously love all of them!

Since august I have had the opportunity to meet and work with some amazing people and companies, starting with Simply Be who have supported me and my blog by allowing me to review clothing for them, and helping with my requests Charlotte is seriously such a Fantabulous and Splendiferous person. ( we like those words )
As well as Ann Harvey and Yoek who looking into working with me in the new year.
I want to thank Eliza Parker who sent me a dress which you will see my fabulous review of on sunday after my new years celebrations.
Also I am going to be reviewing for IGIGI early in the new year so you will have that to look forward to.

Special thanks also goes to my Husband and steps son, and family on my side and Marcs for all the love and support they have shown me in my blogging endeavours, I seriously appreciate everything you do big and small.

2012 looks like it is going to be very exciting and daunting as I have so many new and exciting things to look forward too, I am hoping to be starting a 12 week course with the HellsBells Roller girls and reviewing some items during that time too.
February sees the epic event Plus london Two taking place and the gorgeous  A Monkey Fatshionista who is doing such an amazing job of organising the event.

I am also totally freaking out with excitement that Pinup Girl Clothing are going to be working with Tess Munster as there new model and expanding some of there range to a 3X and 4X. *praying for the Heidi!
they may not be everyones cup of tea but I have been lusting over pinup clothing for so many years and Tess Munster is seriously hot!!!

But most of all to my readers who have made up my 5000+ page views, you are seriously awesome! Thank You!

All That is left to say is Happy New year for Tonight and I hope 2012 treats us all well. x

Love from

Mhairi and Marc and Josh.

Poppy, Toby and the puppies (Hermione, Nell and Ron) wanted to be in on the action too :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Simply Be SS12 Launch event

Yesterday I had the pleasure and privilage to be invited to the Simply Be SS12 Launch, it was such an amazing day and I saw some gorgeous clothing and underwear that I cant wait to get my hands on.

I will start my account of the day with my journey, which turned out to be so embarrassing and hilarious that it kept me going all day.
When I got off my train at kings cross and headed for the victoria line to get myself to oxford circus, I noticed my skirt was very swishy in the wind walking to the underground, but I didn't think anything of it.
I should have.... as I entered the platform for the victoria line, a train was just leaving the station add a big gust of wind flew down the tunnel, this resulted in my skirt flying up and over my head revealing my tights and knickers to the people on the platform, the guy nearest me was trying so hard not let me see his smile but to be honest I was laughing so hard I did not care.

My only thought was, well if I can survive that I don't need to worry about the rest of the day, and I really didn't.

I took a few photos from the event and more can be seen on the Simply be and Simply yours blog pages so make sure you check them out.

This is going to be a lot of pictures.

This gorgeous White and Red set jumped out at me the instant I walked int he room, I love a good polka dot, and this is a GOOD polka dot!
The shape wear all looked divine, with beautiful lace panels and sexy shapes so much nicer than the often boring black or frumpy looking sucky in bits of the past!

I need a holiday just so I can both of the retro inspired polka dot swimwear and also the other red/white/blue print tankini to the right, they looked absolutely fab!

All the other colours looked gorgeous too.

Chanos bra with the most gorgeous little details, so pretty.

The lovely Ceri from Curvyguru

These WILL be mine!

Finally a company is realising we don't all want to wear shapeless black tents!!

Pretty Bags and sandals for the summer.

My picture doesnt do them justice but these were such a gorgeous coral colour and the heel looked perfect, anyone inviting me to a summer wedding?

Lace and pink, felt gorgeous!!

Think I have found my summer maxi dress.

Loved how vibrant the colours are.

Loved this dress fat girls CAN wear white!

The girly pink flowers on this little shrug jacket were just gorgeous.

And the jumpsuit teamed with it, may have tempted me to give one a try, it felt soft but the material was heavy enough that it didn't feel like it was going to cling in all the wrong places and hang like a sack.

Not usually one for yell but I loved this blouse with its tiny black stars all over, think this will be added to my wardrobe as well.

And all of us bloggers together.
Back left to right Em from oh the places you'll go, Ceri from curvyguru, Naomi from Diamonds 'n' Pearls, Me, Georgina from fullerfigurefullerbust.
Front left to right Lauren from pocketrocket and Rosie from A rose like this.

All the wonderful people i met yesterday were so friendly and made me feel welcome, especially as I was a nervous wreck, I really hope I get to spend more time with them in the future as I had a fabulous day.

I would like to say a special thank you to Charlotte Simply be who has been so fantastic inviting me along and allowing me to select some gorgeous items from the current collection online at Simply Be for review.

So watch this space my reviews will be coming up in the near future.
