What to Wear to Work with Fashion World

I firstly want to apologise to Fashion World and my readers for taking so long to get this blog post together, I have been very unwell recently, trying to adjust to new medication, and just trying to function, after finally being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, hopefully I will be here now more regularly that I am functioning slightly better.

Office wear is something I hate buying! I rarely work in a job that requires me to wear suit anymore and I find office smart/casual impossible to balance most of the time. I always seem to swing to far one way or the other.

I have recently been working for my local county council on a part time basis, and the dress code was office smart/casual! I found that people seemed to dress in a huge variation of styles of dress around to offices, some were super smart and some far too casual for my taste.

When Fashion world offered to let me pick an outfit for the office I was very excited, it was a chance for me to see if I could pull off the elusive smart/casual mix!

These are the items I chose

This bag is really lovely, it is smart without looking too dressy, which is fabulous!

I love this cardigan and it is perfect for work with smart trousers as much as it with jeans.

I went for a printed dress in monochrome as I just seem to love the look, it comes in 3 lengths which is brilliant for all the short and tall girls

So how did it all work out?

I love this dress, it fits beautifully, love the tile print pattern and it is going to be brilliant for the Spring and summer, this is how I have been wearing it recently, for work I would normally wear it with tights, but I had just ripped a massive hole in my last pair so this is it teamed with my leggings.
I am wearing it with my Fluffy Cardigan which you can also get through Fashion World as I prefer the look of it with the black cardigan over all. It doesnt look bad with the Cardigan and I adore the cardigan I just love it with my trousers for work more.
Here is the dress with the Cardigan and the Bag, it looks lovely but just not perfect for me, I do highly recommend it though as I live in it both at work and at home with various other outfits.

Head over to the Fashion World Work Wear Promotion HERE, they have picked out some gorgeous outfit choices for the office and shop all the work wear options HERE

I am loving there blazers and may need to get one for the spring as they can be an ideal alternative to a coat as the weather improves.

Do you have a work wear staple, one you find pulls all your outfits together, let me know.

Simply Be - Whats New

My love of simply be is not a secret and yet again they are blowing me away!

I have pulled together a few of my favourite items for you.

Shorts are the bane of my life, they always ride up, they did even when I was skinny, but these I would be willing to try all over again with!  I love the studs and the frayed edge.

The colours of this dress are perfect, I love electric blues, and teemed with the bright yellows and reds in this dress I am in love, but can I get over my fear of the body con?

This skirt is very much me in the 90's and I love it just as much now, which might be worrying, but I just don't care!

I love a good maxi dress and this one is gorgeous, it is bold and fun just what I need to brighten my summer!

I am totally and utterly in lust with this whole outfit, I am drying to try print on print and this is so beautiful I want it to be this!

I have been looking for the perfect trench coat for as long as I can remember and this one ticks a lot of my boxes, I love the khaki colour and that it is softened with the peplum this really might have to find its way into my wardrobe!

Has anything new at simply be caught your eye?

Anna Scholz Black Label and White Label SS13

I recently had the Anna Scholz Promotional SS13 emails land in my inbox and wanted to share with you some of the fabulous designs Anna has given us yet again.

Black Label

Starting with the gorgeous printed jersey skirt and the peplum top, I love the simplicity of this outfit, but the fantastic colours in the skirt, so eye catching, this is a perfect work outfit for me, or a lunch date with the girls.

I love the Neon hues in this fabulous maxi skirt but love even more how Anna has teamed it with the beautiful pinks and greys, giving us the neon trend in an easy to wear way, that for me isn't too young.

I still cant decide if I would be able to pull off a pyjama trouser suit but this one rocks my world, and I would certainly give it a go!
It is sexy flirty and perfect for Spring and summer!

Now I might get a little bit crazy over this jacket...Be warned.
When I saw this it immediately jumped out at me, the Parker is very on trend at the moment, but I find most very harsh looking or way to young for me.
Oh but not this one, I love the shape, the colours on the butterflies and dragon flys (I am obsessed with them), but I also love the length, if this jacket is in your reach I say grab it and look amazing!
At the moment, this is not in my price range but I think I will have to try to save up for it as it really is my perfect spring summer jacket!

Next I want to show you a few of my favourite White Label Pieces.

White Label

The colour of this first dress is divine, and the model is stunning, I love her shape!
it is sexy, yet subtle and so so pretty!

I adore this and could see myself looking amazing in it, at some wonderful spring summer weddings and parties

This was the first dress I saw an image for in the new collections and I said WOW out loud, I love the shape, the colour pops and the monochrome, it is simply stunning!

Now Even though Anna's collection is out of my range at the moment, I know for some of my readers she is not, and as I own one of her Cashmere wrap dresses from a few seasons ago, I can honestly say that the dresses are worth every penny.

When I have more free money I would certainly make a purchase or too, as these are pieces that could last many many years in my wardrobe.

Head on over and take a look around ladies, I am heading over to lust after the parka a bit more!

Plus Size Sports Wear

Fitness can have nothing to do with loosing weight, for me it is about my health and fitness levels, and enjoyment.

I lost my love of exercise a while ago, but recently I have been ready to get back in the swing of things, mainly I love walking and the gym, and was about to begin my couch to 5K challenge but everything kind of went on hold after my dads stroke, but he is on the mend and now more than ever I want to be fit and healthy for the future, dropping dress sizes isn't my goal but getting up the stairs without dying is!

This leads me onto the bane of my exercise existence - Plus Sized sports wear

In the past I have been so put off going to the gym as everything I have found has been horrid, ill fitting and poor quality, but just recently I have been introduced to some amazing brands who realise your dress size does not equate to your levels of fitness, there are plenty of people half my size who can't run for a bus or climb the stairs without getting out of breath, so having good quality, fabulous sports wear is just as important to the plus buyer as it is to a straight sized buyer.

Thats why it is such a breath of fresh air to know that some designers are getting it right!

Cult of California

Take a look at the Cult of california Bio HERE.

I love the part that reads Cult of California is a gathering place of inclusion and inspiration.  Our goal is to promote beauty in all sizes, health in all sizes and style in all aspects of the plus woman’s life.

WORSHIP AT THE ALTAR OF YOU!

The whole line is sassy and sexy and so much FUN!

I love this whole range

The above jog pants are my favourites, I absolutely love them! and the priestess hoody is fantastic too!

What a colour, fantastic for running in, easily seen and fabulous!

Simple yet stylish!

Go take a look at the full range

Saturdays Mini Boots Haul

Today I managed to go for a nice lunch with Marc, and get a little shopping in.

I didn't get much just some much needed hair products a new head scarf and some nail polish.

To be honest it is nice to have a day with Marc, we got to sit and eat, enjoy some conversation, make some plans for the future and just be our selves, it felt good, everything has been so up in the air in recent months, that it feels good to slow down a little.

here are some pictures of the nail polishes I bought, they a all from boot out of the 17 range, I got the Magnetised blue/purple looking colour and the pale blue called Heart beat, which meant I got a free gift which had the beautiful orange looking colour called Tropical island, an eye liner and a body bronzer in it.

The scarf is the animal print under the nail polishes it was £1.50 in the charity shop, and the perfect size to use as a head scarf!

I love the magnetised polish and may have to buy more of them, the pale blue is quite thin and will need 3 coats i think to make it work, the picture above is two coats, and the tropical island is completely gorgeous! so summery and I think I will wear it lots through the summer!

The hair care products i bought were some Aussie mega shampoo and conditioner and a pre lightening hair kit, which I will post all about when I get round to finally sorting out my hair.

What have you all been up to this weekend do you have anything exciting planed or just a quiet one like me?

Bags of Love.co.uk review

BagsOfLove.co.uk

This is my review of the lovely  Personalised Gifts from Bags of Love which were offered to me, as one of my biggest passions in life is photography, I decided to go for it.

They offer so many fabulous gifts, from Design Photo Canvases to Bedding and Handbags, and pretty much everything in-between, I was in awe of the selection on the site, I eventually decided to go for the smaller triple set of canvases as I am trying to get some pictures printed at the moment, and thought it would be a fabulous way to see how well they come out.

I choose 3 pictures of my dogs, which you can see in the original format below.

If you have read my previous post, you should know that it is these little furry monkeys who help to keep me sane.

I chose to have them printed in black and white to bring them all together, and I love how they came out, the quality is really good, I will be ordering a large print of my old girl at some point to see how the colour canvases come out but I have to say the black and white are ace!

This is what I chose the Mini Canvas Prints, they are the 10x8" three part set

We cant wait to get them up on the wall, they are wood frames and the images a wrapped, and would cost £59.98 to purchase them.

Some of the things on the site which really caught my eye were, the Photo Blankets, the photo bedding sets and the photo Wallpaper.

These all caught my eye as my stepson lives with us full time and it would be lovely to have something like these with pictures of his sisters on them for when he isn't visiting them.

There really is a gift for everyone and I honestly would recommend them, and with Fathers Day coming take a look at the options the have.

Hope you find something you like.

Mhairi.

These were gifted to me, but all views and opinions are my own and I have not been paid to promote these items favourably.
