Dressing for my Fibromyalgia part 2

So as you know from my previous post HERE I am having to change the way I dress to suit my abilities at the moment, I have also now had to come off my medication and go am going to be going onto something new soon so I am in near constant pain at the moment and my hands are really not working so buttons and zips are being avoided like the plague!

I recently got myself some new Jeggings from Dorothy Perkins and have been having a nightmare finding something long enough to wear with them has been a bit of a nightmare. I have also been on the look out for something light enough to wear in the evenings over the summer when it cools down a bit and this jumper that Simply Be kindly sent me to try has been brilliant, it is pretty, lightweight and so easy to pop on over a vest when I get a bit chilly in the evening. I think it will still be a bit too hot for the hight of summer even in the evenings but it will see me through into autumn and winter too.

Jacket C/O Simply Be
Jumper C/O Simply Be
Jeggings  - Dorothy Perkins
Boots C/O Fashion World

These were taken a few weeks a couple of weeks ago while it was still cool and rainy.
Look how pretty the lace shoulders are, I love it!

I am now on the hunt for a perfect longline vest top to wear with them which is proving difficult, they are all either so long it looks like a dress, or just a bit too short! I like them to come to mid thigh-ish

Do you have a go to top or jacket to pop on to keep warm in the evening?

Endless Summer By IGIGI

IGIGI always have dresses that take my breath away and I have worn them for many special occasions and always feel beautiful in them. This summers collection is no exception, there are so many stunning dresses and separates that I just sit looking through the website ooohhhing and aahhhhing none stop! When IGIGI agreed to send me a beautiful dress for review I was very excited to chose.

Being on the short side and fat I am supposed to follow all the rules, no all over patterns, no maxis and all that, but do you know what, Sod that!!! I wear whatever I feel good in, and a patterned maxi is exactly what I have been wanting.

A few caught my eye

They are all perfect and if I had some fabulous summer parties or weddings to attend I would be on these like a flash but I really needed something more casual and every day. I want something I can slip on to go for lunch, for a walk in the park or to do the shopping but that can be dressed up for a night out with my husband when we manage it.

I chose the stunning Tiana Maxi, It has print its a maxi and its bloody gorgeous! IGIGI dresses are usually too long for me, by quite a bit but this one isn't too bad, I had it on with my flatforms and although it was a little long I could wear it without dragging it around in the dirt, might just have a tiny bit taken off so I can wear it with sandals in the summer.

The dress is so pretty and I love how it moves! It looks lovely with a denim jacket too.

Excuse my very puffy face in this picture my medication has been doing funny things with my face, I am asking to change to a new one as it is making me feel horrid!

It even has pockets which in my book just makes a dress even more awesome!

IGIGI might be at the upper end of my price range but I have to say I am never disappointed with the quality of the items I try! the lengths can be a frustration but I have had a few things taken up so they work better for me and I don't mind doing that for clothing I truly love.

Geeky Snowflakes Star Wars and Dr Who

If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram I have possibly driven you insane with all my pictures of the amazing snowflakes that we have been making. I wanted to share with you the links for the different templates I used.

I originally got the bug for geeky snowflakes last Christmas, I came across THIS post from Matters of Grey, where you can download the templates for a whole selection of Star Wars snowflakes. I didn't get around to making them last year, this year though with josh being home schooled and it being near the end of the year, we decided to have some fun arts and crafts sessions.

We made a start with the Star Wars Snowflakes, you do need a craft knife for the inner parts as they are pretty fiddly, but the results are fab!

My first attempt at the Storm trooper was a little bit rough and ready but I still love it!

I have about nineteen more Star Wars ones to make from this pack, I will show you them all once they are finished.

Another designer who I found is Anthony Herrera who has some fabulous designs!

I have only made the Yoda from his templates so far but he is AMAZING!!!
How cool is he!

You can download his templates for 2013 and 2012

In my quest for geeky snowflakes I have been trying to figure out what other sci-fi  films and TV I love and went on the hunt for Dr Who Snowflakes.

These are what I have made so far.

Still getting used to the craft knife so a couple of windows were lost in this one.

Sonic Screwdrivers!

Adipose

Cybermen!

Daleks!

My sources for these ones can be found HERE I followed all the links that are posted and I am slowly making my way through them.
Next on my agenda is finding Star Trek snowflakes.

When we are all finished and the front window is decorated I will pop a little post up for you showing them all off.

If you would like a tutorial on how to fold and make these let me know, it isn't too difficult just fiddly.

Fatshion Faceoff - Maxi skirt

Maxi Skirts are one of my favourite wardrobe staples, as a short girl they can be quite hard to wear (well for me anyway) but when I find a good one I wear it to death!

This summer I found it really hard to find one that I loved enough to splash out for so when I won £100 worth of Pink Clove vouchers I was glad to spot one on their website I wanted to try. I have to be honest though I haven't worn it much as I couldn't decide what top would look good with it as it is quite straight up and down, but I came up with an outfit I was pleased with, I felt comfortable yet stylish.

Skirt @Pink Clove - Blouse C/o Simply Be - Cardigan - Very Old New Look
I only managed to get one full length picture and my feet are missing so sorry.

I teamed the Blouse/ skirt combination with my Wide belt to stop it all looking boxy.

Boots C/o Simply Be
I teamed the skirt with my Shoe boots from Simply be as they are great with skirts as it doesn't end up tucked into them.

A Little Close up of my new Glasses from SpecsPost

Head on over and check out the other gorgeous Fatshion Faceoff girls, I bet they look stunning!

Fatshion Faceoff - Shoe boots

So so sorry this is late posting I have pictures for the next 6 or 7 post for Fatshion Faceoff and had planned on spending my morning writing this post while Josh worked through his English worksheets, unfortunately we ended up without electricity for 5 hours so took our work into town for a hot drink.

This weeks post is Shoe boots, something that I have a slight love of.

Mine that I am wearing in this post are from Simply Be and can be found HERE.

I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them, they remind me of similar boots I had in my teens when I was a bit goth.

I wore them with my Tartan Skater Dress from Pink Clove and plain black tights.

The thick heel makes them so simply to walk in and I love the cut out sides, I cant wait to were them with coloured tights in the winter.

OOTD - Simply Be Red Check Dress

The last two weeks have been insanely busy. My step son has been struggling with his school work and bullying, the school have not been able to really help Josh to reach his potential, and have limited his options so much this year with his GCSE's that he has become very frustrated with the whole situation.

We are very lucky that Josh does not have any behaviour related needs but his dyslexia requires different teaching techniques which most of his teachers refuse to use in the classroom which means he struggles to keep up and understand what is required of him.

After more than a year making the decision this week we officially removed Josh from secondary school and as of today we are officially a homeschooling household! This decision has been exciting and scary all at the same time but we know that we are making the right choice for him.

I am able to tech him Maths and science and have my sister helping to tutor in English skills and he will be allowed to explore the other subjects of his choosing to find the best fit for him.

As you can imagine I have been looking for outfits that are comfortable and relaxed as I am sat either in the office or in the kitchen with him while working. Todays outfit is an amazing dress that I was kindly sent by the lovely Simply Be.

While this dress is not the usual figure flattering nipped in waist style that I prefer, it is just so comfortable and makes me feel fabulous anyway! It has false zip pockets (would have loved real ones) and the bold check pattern is fantastic.

I didn't manage to capture the best photo of it today but you get the idea and I think you can see i feel happy and relaxed, excuse the hair, it was stuck up in a ponytail while we ran into town for school supplies.

I also have another amazing tartan inspired outfit for you from Simply Be which is gorgeous so keep an eye out for that this week.

Hopefully now this decision is made and we are all less stressed I can get into a blogging schedule again.

Curvissa Studded Jacket Review

The wonderful PR team at Curvissa approached me before christmas about the new spring/ summer range due in and asked me if I would like to try out something to review I was instantly drawn to the Studded Jacket from the PR image sent to me.

Spring is a time when I cant decide what to wear as the weather is so changeable and a biker jacket is something I have been thinking about for a while.

When the jacket arrived I was very impressed with the feel and weight of it, it costs £85 and is a lovely dark grey colour, I find black can be quite harsh on me and like the grey as it is a bit brighter.

This is a size 22 and it is a little big but it is comfortable and good for me to layer under so I am happy with that.

Sorry I look a little rough in the photos they were from before christmas when not too well, I am just now getting back into the swing of things and feeling completely better after weeks of passing various illnesses back and fourth in the house.

I cant find the link for the jacket at the moment, but as soon as I find it I will add it to the post.

I love this jacket and I am in love with this one on the site too Faux Leather Jacket

Go check Curvissa out.

Fatshion Faceoff

This weeks Fatshion Faceoff is one of my favourite things a top/ dress with animals on it, I have a few items that fit the bill, but I love this dress so had to show it.

Sorry for the picture quality, I left my camera on again and it has no charge, so had to resort to the iPhone which to be honest is a bit naff in low light.

My dress is from the ASOS Curve range, after seeing the gorgeous Rosie in it, I know I needed it in my wardrobe!

it is a gorgeous little dress, but I have to say the jersey is a little thin and has faded very quickly, but I love it so much I still wear it.

You also get my fabulous christmas hat as it was freezing outside, it is a hat and scarf and it has pockets what more could I want.

Animals really to make me happy, I need more animals on my clothes :)

Head on over and check out the other gorgeous ladies in there fabulous outfits.

Fatshion Faceoff - Polka Dot Top

Polka dots are one of my most favourite things in the world, but I do not own nearly enough!

So when I spotted this top in dorothy Perkins I wanted it desperately but at £24 it was more than I was willing to pay out just now for a top, So last week when perusing the Dorothy Perkins website and I realised it had gone down in the sale to £12 I snapped it up quickly and I love it, if you manage to get one though I would say size down as I am always a 22 in DP but in this top I could have easily gone for a 20.

I am afraid my pictures this week are from my mobil and not great, but my camera was charging for the wedding I was attending this on Thursday.

Polka dots and peplums I am in heaven!

Check out the other gorgeous ladies this week and see how good they look in polka dots!

Fatshion Faceoff - Bodycon Dress

This week has given me serious fear, I am coming along the road to accepting myself and being happy in the skin I am in but I still do not particularly like myself in a Bodycon dresses, I am a lover of circle skirts and dresses so this challenge was a little worrying!

The amazing Hanna has lent me a dress for this weeks challenge so I can try it without committing to it if I am not keen! this is a great way to try new fashions to be honest, trying them in the shop is great but i like to wear something and move about in it a while to see how I actually feel, so if you have good friends who can let you come over for a dress us session go for it, give it a whirl and you might be surprised and find something new to search out in the shops and wear with love!

So here I am in the dress.
Please excuse the quality of this weeks picture and the lovely location have been busy with first assignment for my course.
I love my dog Ron's face even he knows when I am not sure, I love the dress so so much but felt odd wearing it as I am just not at all used to it, but maybe with some better bridgett Jones' on I might feel better.

The dress is from Simply be and is the one Hanna wore on the simply be catwalk, I couldn't find the exact one online but THIS is a similar shape but in a gorgeous red

Don't forget to check out the other fabulous ladies in their outfits!

Fatshion Faceoff - Statement Ring

Statement Rings

This weeks Fatshion Faceoff instills dread in me if I am honest! I avoid rings as I am not a fan of my hands at all, and only own a couple, the ring I am wearing is from Primark and cost £2 I loved the colour but hardly wear it.

Having worn it today with my outfit, I realise my hands don't look as bad as I see them in my head, and i like what the ring brings to my outfit, so maybe it is time to get out and buy some statement rings and be brave!

I just realised my top has become rather untucked as it was in more than this when I started my day but hey ho, I am wearing my new Tesco top with my New look Skirt, I need to find a new maxi for the winter which is a bit of a heavier fabric as this is lovely but so thin and it creases far too easily for my liking!

So do you go in for the whole statement ring thing or do you like your hands clear and simple?

Check out the other beautiful ladies this week to see their take on the whole look!

Fatshion Faceoff - Pencil Skirt

Pencil Skirt

This Weeks Fatshion Faceoff challenge is Pencil Skirts, I am still to find my perfect pencil skirt, I want one that is fitted but not rigid, allows me to move and has a little stretch, but I am yet to find one, I want to try something from Mode Merr as they always look stunning, but until then, my only one is this Black Evans on, which I have had for a few years now, it has been a good staple in my wardrobe and gets whipped out for lots of occasions.

Today I teamed it with my mint cardigan and mint shoes, both from New Look I would love the shoes to be slightly nearer to the cardi or the cardi slightly nearer to the shoes in colour, but it was too bad a match.

My cardigan is of the batwing variety and doesn't sit as well as I would like, so I am going to hunt out a gorgeous fitted Mint green cardigan to wear with pencil skirts as I do like a bit of the sexy librarian look :)

Go take a peek at the other fabulous Fatshion Faceoff ladies this week, I know they will look amazing!

Fatshion Faceoff - Strapless item

Strapless Top

This weeks pick was something strapless, and as you will see, strapless is not a look I find easy to pull off.

I did however love the colour of this top and just had to get it, I need to get a different belt to wear with it as it didn't sit right but I love the colour and will get lots of wear out of it if the sun ever decides to make an appearance again!

As the evening was fairly cool I teamed it with my skinny black jeans and my coral flats and a black cardigan for my dignity :)

Also check out my lovely new glasses.

My usual dodgy shot!

The top is New look and was £9 in the sale, it is from the standard range in a size 18, the jeans are Dorothy Perkins.

Go take a peek at the other fabulous ladies who will show you how its done far better than me :)

Do you brave strapless?
