Charity Shop Challenge

Good Evening, A little while ago the lovely Sarah of Sarah Smiles asked if anyone would like to take part in a little charity shop challenge with her, I thought it sounded fun and asked if I could come along.

Our budget was £15 and we needed to put together an outfit from our local charity shops.

No I found this challenge a total nightmare but totally fun, my local charity shops can be amazing, I live in a fairly affluent town and I often spot some fantastic bargains often with there original tags still on, typically though when I needed something they were pretty useless but they finally came through literally with only a day to spare.

I managed to pick up this lovely black Evans maxi, its is pretty simple and looks to be hardly if ever worn, it is perfect for the spring summer season ahead and I will get quite a bit of wear out of it I am sure. The dress came in at £7

The shoes were my best charity shop find ever! they are brand new Newlook shoes, the soles are spotless, and for the bargain price of £5 I am very happy to have found them.

The cardigan is from Gap and still had the shop tag in it, I bought it for the fabulous price of £2.50

So I actually came in under budget, but didn't have quite enough to get any accessories so I teamed it with my own globe watch and I am also wearing a vest I already owned under the dress.

Charity shops can be so much fun, my local Mind charity shop had a pair of Louboutins in a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't even bring myself to check the price of them, just in case I wanted them :)

I am a natural born bargain hunter and seeing the number of clothing items that still have there original price tags, they can be well worth a look, and it feels good to give something to charity.

Go and see Sarah, I know she will look fabulous!

Fatshion Faceoff - Thrifted Bag

This weeks challenge is a Thrifted bag, I used to have a fair few but they have all mostly fallen apart over the years, luckily I still have one which I love, it is possibly a bit 90's but I still love it, mainly because of its hint of tartan.

It is a pepe jeans branded bag made of a denim material with metal strap with tartan ribbon through it.

I have teamed it with my outfit from today which is High waisted blue leggings form Simply Be, I have 2 pairs of these now  they are ace! My AX Paris jumper and my fabulous parka jacket c/o Fashion world, I have a lovely post coming over the weekend which has some Q&A from the lovely Claire Richardson of steps fame, and and outfit from her selection for Fashion world.

Now back to the bag, I love charity shops, I am lucky that I live in a very affluent town and my charity shops are pretty ace, one had a pair of Louboutin shoes a few weeks ago, I didn't dare go in and ask to see them as I was skint and would have wanted them!
But designer clothes and other items are not hard to come by, if you are willing to have a good dig around!

So what are you thrifted find, anything special??

Saturdays Mini Boots Haul

Today I managed to go for a nice lunch with Marc, and get a little shopping in.

I didn't get much just some much needed hair products a new head scarf and some nail polish.

To be honest it is nice to have a day with Marc, we got to sit and eat, enjoy some conversation, make some plans for the future and just be our selves, it felt good, everything has been so up in the air in recent months, that it feels good to slow down a little.

here are some pictures of the nail polishes I bought, they a all from boot out of the 17 range, I got the Magnetised blue/purple looking colour and the pale blue called Heart beat, which meant I got a free gift which had the beautiful orange looking colour called Tropical island, an eye liner and a body bronzer in it.

The scarf is the animal print under the nail polishes it was £1.50 in the charity shop, and the perfect size to use as a head scarf!

I love the magnetised polish and may have to buy more of them, the pale blue is quite thin and will need 3 coats i think to make it work, the picture above is two coats, and the tropical island is completely gorgeous! so summery and I think I will wear it lots through the summer!

The hair care products i bought were some Aussie mega shampoo and conditioner and a pre lightening hair kit, which I will post all about when I get round to finally sorting out my hair.

What have you all been up to this weekend do you have anything exciting planed or just a quiet one like me?
