Curvissa Autumn Advert - My favourites

Curvissa

Curvissa have just launched there new A/W13 TV advert and I wanted to share it with you guys here.

I have the stills of each outfit showcased and I have fallen in love with quite a bit of it.

I love the longline jumper in the centre image, it is very me, I love winter and love to wrap up warm. Her boots are also amazing! They come in a stunning red colour which I am obsessing over.
The parka is currently only in stock in one of the colours, I am hoping that it comes back in the blue colour as, this would be the perfect coat for me through autumn.

I love the 50's inspired dress on the right, I have been looking at it for months, and have come close to ordering it a number of times already.
I also love the fabulous converse trainers in the middle image, Curvissa stock some excellent brands.

Outdoor walks are a favourite pass time in our house, in the advert I love the classic trench coat, it is an excellent staple for your wardrobe, it is so versatile for the cooler Autumn and spring months.
The Accessories in this section really caught my eye, the gorgeous bag and the tan ankle boots are gorgeous, as well as the fabulous red boots.

Party season is nearly upon us once again, finding that perfect outfit can be a nightmare and Curvissa have chosen some lovely looks to showcase.
I love the mod feel of the Circle print dress on the left, it is so simple yet fun.
The centre dress is also gorgeous, I am not usually a fan of exposed shoulders but I love the print so much I think I can forgive it. and the shoes worn on the left are perfect!

You can shop the advert HERE by selecting the occasion at the top.

I also have some fabulous behind the scene pictures from the shoot
Dash is such a cutie and it looks like he wowed the models too.

Here is the beautiful Vikki in hair and make up.

The lovely Rosie of A Rose Like This and Betty Pamper also spent the day behind the scenes watching the adverts being made and had a fabulous day.

Here is the transcript or the interviews from both Rosie and Betty.

Rosie

- Have you been to a TV shoot before?
I've been on shoots in the past but not for ones on such a grand scale as this. Normally I've been put in a little room and we all work within that but being in a large studio seeing all the goings on was a lovely change and something I greatly enjoyed!

- Was the shoot what you expected?
As I have an idea of what happens on a shoot I was aware how busy they can get and how warm it gets for the poor models under all the lighting particularly when you're working ahead and pretending its winter in the middle of summer! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming to chat to us about blogging or what was happening on the set that was something I didn't expect to feel so involved but it was wonderful!

- Which was your favourite outfit and why?
It's so hard to choose just ONE! But I loved the black and white three quarter sleeved dress (Sorry I don't know the name of it!) I think it was worn by Laura the model and she looked fabulous in it!

- What was your favourite part of the day?
This had to be meeting some of the lovely Curvissa team and the models. Seeing what went into the advert and meeting the adorable Jack Russell Dash! Oh and not forgetting the chance to spend a few hours with one of my favourite bloggers Betty Pamper! So really the WHOLE day was my favourite part!

Betty

· Have you been to a TV shoot before?
I have as in my former life I was a video director. I never directed fashion shoots though so it was really interesting to watch the process.

· Was the shoot what you expected?
In some ways yes although I hadn't realised just how many times you would be filming each model in certain poses to create the look for the promo. Its always amazing how much you have to film for one short snappy advert.

· Which was your favourite outfit and why?
The black and white circle print dress was my absolute fave. I love clothes that create clever illusions and with its black top and patterned bottom half its actually a great dress for accentuating your curves but isn't too unforgiving, which fitted dresses like this in one colour can be. I really liked how it had been styled on the model as it looked very 1950's glam which is a look I absolutely adore and which really suits my figure. I’ve since got my hands on this dress and its as lovely on a mere mortal as it is a model so bravo!

· What was your favourite part of the day?
I enjoyed it all, especially seeing all the new A/W collections. Highlights definitely included chatting to the models (who were lovely and really invested in the clothes and in plus size fashion as a whole and also speaking to the Curvissa team who are a really great bunch dedicated to getting it right for all us plus size hotties.

30 Day Blogger Challenge - Days 11 - 19

Day 11 - Sell yourself in 10 words or less

Calm, confident and just a little insane! Thats me

Day 12 - What do you miss?

I miss many things, the original Mountain dew (the stuff out now is crap!), on TV I miss Heroes, Charmed, A town called Eureka and so much more.

But seriously I miss my grandparents the most, three of my four have passed away and I miss talking to them and visiting them, but most of all I miss my Gran who is in scotland, it has been a really long time since I was able to visit her and our finances this year are making it look unlikely I can visit any time soon.

Day 13 - Issue a Public Apology

Day 14 - Ten things that Make me really happy

These are in no particular order

1. My Dogs

2. My Family

3. My Husband

4. My friends

5. My Blog
Got to love the dodgy shots!
6. Nutella

7. Tenacious D

8. Learning new things

9. Winter

10. Gardening

Day 15 - A day in the Life

I will catch up with this one tomorrow

Day 16 - Something difficult about your "lot in life"and how you are working to overcome it.

For the past 10 years I have been treated on and off for varying levels of depression and anxiety disorders, I am working to overcome this in many ways through medical treatment, making changes in my life and trying to understand more about my condition.

Day 17 - A favourite photo of yourself and why

I love this photo - it reminds me I am lucky to have two people in my life as insane as me!

Day 18 - Tell a story about your childhood

I remember when I was very small, possibly around 3 years old. My dad had been digging up the front of our house, to put in a driveway I think and I was out there helping him (this meant playing in the mud and being generally grotty) I vividly remember finding a massive worm and thinking it was amazing, I grabbed it up and ran in the house to find my mum.
When I did I shouted look mum a worm! I remember thinking it was the best thing ever and mum mum would obviously just love it too, but when she saw it she screamed eww and chased me out of the house.

I wasn't a normal three year old girl!

Day 19 - Five of my favourite blogs and what I love about them

Mrs BeBe - I love becky, she is such an amazing person in real life who I count as a friend, I love her style!

Curvy Wordy - Caroline has an amazing figure and a Lingerie collection to die for! she is an amazing friend and a beautiful person!

Fuller Figure Fuller Bust - For a long time I had a ver similar bust size to Georgina and she is my go to gal for bras that I know will work for me.

The wardrobe challenge - Hanna is awesome, she is brilliant fun and I love her style!

Life on a different level - This is my sisters blog, it is a total mixed bag just like her, and I love her!

Fatshion Faceoff - Bodycon Dress

This week has given me serious fear, I am coming along the road to accepting myself and being happy in the skin I am in but I still do not particularly like myself in a Bodycon dresses, I am a lover of circle skirts and dresses so this challenge was a little worrying!

The amazing Hanna has lent me a dress for this weeks challenge so I can try it without committing to it if I am not keen! this is a great way to try new fashions to be honest, trying them in the shop is great but i like to wear something and move about in it a while to see how I actually feel, so if you have good friends who can let you come over for a dress us session go for it, give it a whirl and you might be surprised and find something new to search out in the shops and wear with love!

So here I am in the dress.
Please excuse the quality of this weeks picture and the lovely location have been busy with first assignment for my course.
I love my dog Ron's face even he knows when I am not sure, I love the dress so so much but felt odd wearing it as I am just not at all used to it, but maybe with some better bridgett Jones' on I might feel better.

The dress is from Simply be and is the one Hanna wore on the simply be catwalk, I couldn't find the exact one online but THIS is a similar shape but in a gorgeous red

Don't forget to check out the other fabulous ladies in their outfits!

Ups and Downs

This weekend has been a difficult one a while ago we had to make the choice to find a new home for our beautiful puppy Nelly, she is such an amazing girl but our other dog poppy just hasn't taken to another girl coming into her home.

This led to fighting and us having to keep them separated at all times which is no way for either of them to live, so the choice was made, we have been worrying ourselves sick over finding her the perfect home where she can flourish and be the happy puppy we know she is.

Plus North turned out to be a godsend, as after a chance conversation with the wonderful Clare, of Big Beauty Blog, she mentioned the loss of her dog and how she would love another puppy if she could persuade her husband, well fast forward 2 days and she came back to me to tell me they would love to offer Nelly a home.

We arranged for us to drop her off this weekend and on saturday we made the journey Up North to drop her off, it was a very long journey with 8 stops for a very car sick pup but we made it and left knowing she would be loved, I did well I made it 2 hours down the road before I burst into tears when I thought of her spotty tummy.

Clare has set up a wonderful little blog for her, so we can see her growing into a big doggy, you can see it HERE it is really lovely.
Here is a little outfit post from yesterday, I broke my own rule and wore leggings with a shorter top, it still covered my bum, I just needed comfort as I was in the car for nearly 9 hours in total!

Today to take my mind off things and as it was finally a nice day with a breeze we thought it a good day to get some gardening done as all the rain recently has meant a very overgrown messy garden.

We did about 4 hours work and have made a good start, there is still lots to do, but my gardening tools are a bit crap, lots seem to have been lost in the moves, so will have to invest in some new items.

Here are a few images of our handy work.

The two big bushes over the back were being completely strangled by tangle weed (our name for it, not sure its real)

Watered all my potted plants.

wave my bush a trim ;)

And removed lots of nettles.

Now does anyone have any idea for cheap paving ideas up top there, as you can see the grass has been destroyed by the dogs and needs to be more practical.

Have you had a good weekend, did you work hard or have a lazy one?

Bags of Love.co.uk review

BagsOfLove.co.uk

This is my review of the lovely  Personalised Gifts from Bags of Love which were offered to me, as one of my biggest passions in life is photography, I decided to go for it.

They offer so many fabulous gifts, from Design Photo Canvases to Bedding and Handbags, and pretty much everything in-between, I was in awe of the selection on the site, I eventually decided to go for the smaller triple set of canvases as I am trying to get some pictures printed at the moment, and thought it would be a fabulous way to see how well they come out.

I choose 3 pictures of my dogs, which you can see in the original format below.

If you have read my previous post, you should know that it is these little furry monkeys who help to keep me sane.

I chose to have them printed in black and white to bring them all together, and I love how they came out, the quality is really good, I will be ordering a large print of my old girl at some point to see how the colour canvases come out but I have to say the black and white are ace!

This is what I chose the Mini Canvas Prints, they are the 10x8" three part set

We cant wait to get them up on the wall, they are wood frames and the images a wrapped, and would cost £59.98 to purchase them.

Some of the things on the site which really caught my eye were, the Photo Blankets, the photo bedding sets and the photo Wallpaper.

These all caught my eye as my stepson lives with us full time and it would be lovely to have something like these with pictures of his sisters on them for when he isn't visiting them.

There really is a gift for everyone and I honestly would recommend them, and with Fathers Day coming take a look at the options the have.

Hope you find something you like.

Mhairi.
