Fatshion Faceoff - Maxi skirt

Maxi Skirts are one of my favourite wardrobe staples, as a short girl they can be quite hard to wear (well for me anyway) but when I find a good one I wear it to death!

This summer I found it really hard to find one that I loved enough to splash out for so when I won £100 worth of Pink Clove vouchers I was glad to spot one on their website I wanted to try. I have to be honest though I haven't worn it much as I couldn't decide what top would look good with it as it is quite straight up and down, but I came up with an outfit I was pleased with, I felt comfortable yet stylish.

Skirt @Pink Clove - Blouse C/o Simply Be - Cardigan - Very Old New Look
I only managed to get one full length picture and my feet are missing so sorry.

I teamed the Blouse/ skirt combination with my Wide belt to stop it all looking boxy.

Boots C/o Simply Be
I teamed the skirt with my Shoe boots from Simply be as they are great with skirts as it doesn't end up tucked into them.

Head on over and check out the other gorgeous Fatshion Faceoff girls, I bet they look stunning!

Simply Be - Whats New

My love of simply be is not a secret and yet again they are blowing me away!

I have pulled together a few of my favourite items for you.

Shorts are the bane of my life, they always ride up, they did even when I was skinny, but these I would be willing to try all over again with!  I love the studs and the frayed edge.

The colours of this dress are perfect, I love electric blues, and teemed with the bright yellows and reds in this dress I am in love, but can I get over my fear of the body con?

This skirt is very much me in the 90's and I love it just as much now, which might be worrying, but I just don't care!

I love a good maxi dress and this one is gorgeous, it is bold and fun just what I need to brighten my summer!

I am totally and utterly in lust with this whole outfit, I am drying to try print on print and this is so beautiful I want it to be this!

I have been looking for the perfect trench coat for as long as I can remember and this one ticks a lot of my boxes, I love the khaki colour and that it is softened with the peplum this really might have to find its way into my wardrobe!

Has anything new at simply be caught your eye?

Fatshion Faceoff - Statement Ring

Statement Rings

This weeks Fatshion Faceoff instills dread in me if I am honest! I avoid rings as I am not a fan of my hands at all, and only own a couple, the ring I am wearing is from Primark and cost £2 I loved the colour but hardly wear it.

Having worn it today with my outfit, I realise my hands don't look as bad as I see them in my head, and i like what the ring brings to my outfit, so maybe it is time to get out and buy some statement rings and be brave!

I just realised my top has become rather untucked as it was in more than this when I started my day but hey ho, I am wearing my new Tesco top with my New look Skirt, I need to find a new maxi for the winter which is a bit of a heavier fabric as this is lovely but so thin and it creases far too easily for my liking!

So do you go in for the whole statement ring thing or do you like your hands clear and simple?

Check out the other beautiful ladies this week to see their take on the whole look!

Fatshion Faceoff - Denim Skirt

Denim Skirt

Another week, another fabulous Fatshion Faceoff post, if you are new to the blog, every week on wednesday myself and five other gorgeous ladies from around the globe pick an item of clothing which we all have and style it in our own individual ways.

This week it was the choice of hanna, who went with a denim skirt.

Now I haven't bought a denim skirt in years, but I had a very old maxi one, thrown into the back of the airing cupboard, which is getting a bit tight, but for this weeks purposes worked out pretty well, as it was fairly overcast and breezy today, I went for a light weigh shirt but one that has sleeves for a bit more coverage and It is a nice casual, relaxed look which is great for running errands and laid back days.

Please excuse the closed eyes, I was having one of those moments and every picture had closed eyes!
The skirt is a very old next one and the shirt was from the recent Simply Be sale.

I also wore my fabulous Funk & Finery cuff

I need to find myself a new denim skirt, it is really comfy, but want one that fits a little better.

How do you wear a denim skirt, do you like a maxi or a mini?

Check out the posts from the other gorgeous ladies!

Fatshion Faceoff

Fatshion Challenge - Stripped Top

I recently asked if the gorgeous girls behind Fatshion Faceoff, had space for a little one, my blog is my way of challenging myself to try new things and the challenges the girls are setting looked fun.

So first of all thank you so much to the gorgeous Dani of diyfatshion, Hanna of the wardrobe challenge, Olivia of Wait until the sunset, Molly of Molly Pocket and Mouna of Brussels fatshion.

I cant wait to get stuck in. x

This week it is olivia's turn to pick an item to style for the challenge, and her choice this week was a Stripped top, I almost panicked as I have nothing stripped, until I remembered I had bought a stripped pastel jumper a few weeks ago, that had become buried in the mess of my wardrobe.

It is pretty casual but as I have no jeans at the moment I decided to put something together to pop out with my mum on sunday for some lunch.

This is what I came up with!

I teamed the NEw Look striped top with a Black maxi skirt from New Look and and a Black jersey Blazer from Next.

I am not sure this is exactly how I want to wear this top, but I felt comfortable and confident out and about in it, but I do need to take the skirt up a little as I have to hike it up under my boobs to keep it off the floor.

WEll that was my interpretation, a bit boring, but i will get more adventurous as I get more confident in the challenges I am sure :) x

Go see what the other girls are wearing in their interpretations of this weeks Fatshion Challenge.
