Fatshion Faceoff - Lane Bryant

Hello to my lovely Fatshion Faceoff readers.

We have a special one off post for you this week, the lovely people at Lane Bryant recently sent each of us a beautiful dress for each of us wear our way.

Lane Bryant is a very well known US based plus size clothing brand, the focus on fashion and the fit of there clothing and I love so much of what they carry.

The dress which we received was the Plus Size Skater Sweater Dress.

The dress is made in a gorgeous soft knit, which feels beautiful on. I can be a bit fussy about knitted items as I can only touch some types of wool without totally freaking out.

I asked for the dress in size 18/20 and it is pretty generous so think I could have gotten away with a size down, but it doesn't hang badly or look too over sized so I am happy either way.

Being a simple monochrome colour way, I can see me popping this on over the winter with a coloured blazer, I  have worn it quite casually today with my knee high boots and leggings but I think it could look just as nice with tights, heels and a blazer for a dinner date with Marc.

So here are my pictures, for some reason they came out with a slight pink tint and it was rather wet and chilly at the time so I may not look my best.
I feel very relaxed and comfortable in this dress, it will become one of my winter wardrobe staples I think.

It has a very lovely exposed gold zip at the back which helps to stop the dress from being too casual.

You can see in the photo that my hair has changed again it is now black on top and green/blue under, this was to make the upkeep more manageable as my natural hair colour is so dark.

Head on over to Lane Bryant and take a look around they have so many fabulous items, there shoe collections are amazing and they offer shipping internationally.

The other gorgeous FF ladies have their posts live now too so head on over and check them out!

Fatshion Faceoff - Simply Be Dress

The wonderful Hanna recently arranged with the fabulous Simply Be for us all to be sent the same dress and challenged us to wear it our way, this is so exciting as although we all wear a similar item each week, we never get to try the same thing.

This is a fantastic way for our readers to see how the dress looks on a variety of body shapes, heights, and different skin tones and hair colours too.

The dress we received was this one

Now I utterly love how this has been styled in the photos, but at christmas I have lots of family gatherings to attend that involve driving back and forth and this dress is perfect it is comfortable beautiful, and most of all I love the little details like the cutout back.

I have therefore styled it with comfort and practicality in mind for the crazy holiday season ahead!

The back detail.

So pretty, I adore the colours.

I love the cap sleeves and and in a 20 the dress is spot on over my boobs, but could have easily sized down for the waist and hips, but my boobs take priority!

The material is beautiful and thick and I love that it has the little sleeves I didn't feel the need to add a cardigan to this at all and would happily wear it as it is.

I added my belt just to dress it up a little but even though it is a tiny bit big through the waist I can were it without the belt and it still looks lovely, and just a simple pair of flats for all the rushing about.

Planning has already commenced to dress it up for a night out too, so watch this space for an OOTD post in the near future!

I just want to take the time to say thank you to Simply Be for sending us all the dress, and also for making some of the most fabulous plus clothing on the market.

Now head on over to the other ladies and see how they have worn theirs!

Fatshion Faceoff - Scarf as Belt

Scarf and Belt

Fatshion faceoff is here again and this week is wearing a scarf as a belt, now I don't have many scarfs so had to make use of what I had, I feel I could make this work much better with a square scarf as I currently have only a very large rectangular scarf.

I think I will go to my local charity shops and look for some new scarfs to experiment with, and hopefully I can bring you some future outfits with scarfs as a belt that are a bit more interesting than this one.

Dress - Newlook last season
Shoes - Newlook
Scarf - butterfly farm

I really need to look up some interesting ways of knotting the scarf for more interest.
and I want to try twisting the scarf to make it look a bit different but overall I like the contrast and it could be good to have some interesting patterns and colours.

Go take a look at the other beautiful ladies and there fabulous efforts.
