Simply Be Review - Clothing the Generations

Whilst speaking with Simply Be about there upcoming campaigns the very kindly offered to send myself and my mum something to review each, as part of my posts on plus size retailers who cater to multiple generations of women and do it well.

Simply Be for me are one of the best retailers currently out there who do this well, as I discussed in the previous post HERE, most shops are aimed at a particular customer but with plus size retailers we do not often have the luxury of choice and have to find what we can, and although things are getting better it can still sometimes be a frustration.

But I find simply be offer such a wide variety of options that there really is something for everyone, young old, conservative, wild, funky, you name it you can probably find something and this is a breath of fresh air for most of us.

we decided to order a jacket/ coat each that suited our personalities and styles.

First up my mum, she went for a coat and took it on its first outing to the wedding we attended last week, below is her choice.

The colour is stunning, my mum always looks lovely in strong colours! she loved the little PU strips between the blue and black too, when it arrived she fell in love with it.

Mums model pose :)

She has asked me to tell you that this coat is the snuggliest and most lovely coat, she loves it, it feels amazing and it being machine washable is a huge bonus.
It gets a huge mum thumbs up!

My choice was a jacket, I have been wanting something dressy that I can wear with jeans or dresses on a night out, as soon as I saw the Changes by Together Tailored Jacket I knew I was in love!

I love the sequin embroidery and the classic style of the jacket, it looks gorgeous with jeans and as you can see equally lovely with my dress at the wedding last week.
I am going to find a tailor to take it in a t the side just a little for me as to fit my bust I get left with a bit of space at the waist but it isn't enough to make a huge difference, just for my comfort!

The detail on the jacket is just beautiful, its is totally gorgeous, and while the £99.50 price is quite high the beauty of this jacket means I would pay it and it has so many uses I fell it is worth it.

Simply be have some amazing options at the moment and me and mum can each find so many items that we love.

Thank you to the wonderful Jessica and team.

Go take a look HERE for yourself!

My sister has got me this dress too, I cant wait to wear it, it looks gorgeous!

The day was truly wonderful Nicole and Ryan made is so special for themselves and their guests, the attention to detail was fantastic!

These gorgeous chirpy birds on the order of service were just the start.

My gorgeous Stepson and Nephews waiting in the church.

We each received one of these fabulous tea towels as the wedding invitation, such a brilliant idea!

The gorgeous Nicole and Ryan with her Sister Kattrina and her Brother Ross

The stunning blue colours from the invitations matched the gorgeous bouquets and the Bridesmaids dresses.

My sister also made these gorgeous little bracelets for the bridesmaids to wear.

She also made this gorgeous hair pin for Nicole to wear.

Each table had a Birdcage centre piece which has the candle lit and stunning blue glasses, the kids had a box each with games and things to occupy them.

Our place markers continued the pretty bird theme, and were attached to our wedding favours.

The Favours themselves were AMAZING!!!! they were chocolate covered toffee apples the girls had these white chocolate ones that looked like a wedding dress.

The boys ones looked like little suits!

The wedding cake was simply stunning and had these two gorgeous little chirpy birds on it too.

The Bird Cage cake was truly stunning!

The mother of the bride isn't a big flower fan so instead the got her a bouquet of chocolate, how fab is that!

We also played Bingo, which we all loved and my husband won a prize, I have never heard someone so happy to scream bingo before, it was hilarious!

And my sister may kill me for posting this but two very tired girls at the end of a long day and I was a little drunk by this point! (It doesn't take much)

But whats more worrying is this was us at the start of the reception!

To Nicole and Ryan if you get round to having a read of this, thank you so much for having us, it was an amazing day and I am so proud of my little Noo Noo and her lovely new husband!

My reviews will follow over the next week or so, so keep an eye out, this was very photo heavy so sorry about that, but there was just so much to show you and I did get it down from the 500 photos I took on the day :)

Getting to know me!

Not many followers at the moment, but this blog is for me and this might be good to look back on in the future to see where I have moved on from here.

So.........hmmm.... This is harder than I thought!

Well lets start easy shall we.

Name - Mhairi aka- lilandra, lilybobomb and bob!
Age - 30
Dress size - anything from a 16 to a 22 depending on where I shop average 18 at the moment.
Hight - 5'2"

So what is there to know about me, well I have had every job known to man (at least it seems that way).
I have sold cars, managed pubs, worked in retail and as a haematology technician, still not sure what I want to be when I grow up, but its getting a bit late to decide!

I got married at the age of 21, to one of my best friends who I met at college Marc, 9 years on we are still happy, contrary to most peoples thoughts at the time.

To be fair we started dating in the march were engaged by may and married in the december and only gave one weeks notice.

This wasn't necessarily the best way to do it but at the time, we felt so stressed out by family issues and organising the wedding we just kind of snapped and said sod it, called the registry office and got the first cancellation available which was only a week away.

Our only regret in doing it this way is that my dad had his passport stolen and couldn't get a replacement in time and couldn't come, but my best friend Andrew gave me away and dad was on the phone to me throughout the day.

Me, Marc and little Josh!

With marrying Marc I had a crash course in becoming a step parent I met josh when he was 2 he was 3 in this picture.

I am very lucky that we have a fantastic relationship and as he came to live with us full time nearly tree and a half years ago I am glad we do get on well.

My favourite photo of Joshua, this is on our living room wall :)

I have a big sister called Claire, who I love very much even though we tried to kill each other a few times when we were kids.

Claire and me.

Claire has given me two gorgeous nephews Harry and Charlie who are twins, Charlie was born with a kidney disorder ARPKD which I know is hard for my sister, I wish I could do more for them.
I am hoping to do the London bridges walk for the Kidneyresearchuk
charity next year. They turned 9 this year and I am so proud of both of them.
This picture was from a couple of years ago, but still love it! (Harry (L), Josh (C) and Charlie (R)

Thats it for now, if there is anything else you want to know please ask and next time I might just have to show you some hilarious fashion fails from my years on planet earth!!!!

Love Mhairi. xxxx
