Fatshion Faceoff - THEME Skulls

Hi ladies, after a bit of a hiatus, I am back!

I do not have an outfit post for you today unfortunately, as the item I was supposed to buy for this post became unobtainable due to my husbands wages getting messed up, but what I do have a a list of some of the most awesome skull related items I could find.

I love this Tshirt and at a steal price of just £12 in the sale, it is a must buy for me.

This scarf is so pretty, skulls are often thought of as gothic and dark, but the pinks and pastels of this make me happy to look at.

These are totally brilliant, so fun for a halloween party!

These are the bits on my shopping list so maybe sometime soon I can add a new outfit post for you.

Check out the other gorgeous ladies this week.

New Look - Skirts

I have been looking at skirts more often, usually I am a dress or jeans type of girl but recent forays into skirt territory have really made me hanker after more in my wardrobe, This post focuses on New Look they have a huge collection of Skirts in both there Standard Sizes 6-18 as well as in there Plus sizes which are HERE

My current Favourites are this little lot!

As you can see the coming Autumn/ Winter is making me go for blacks and reds, which I just love!

I like the versatility a skirt offers me, I can wear clashing prints, mixed colour or keeping simple with a complementary colour. Dresses, which I love for there lack of effort, can have a jacket added do dress them up or down but skirts might make me try something more adventurous, which is something I need to do more often.

Are you a skirts kind of girl or do you prefer dresses or trousers?

AW13 Trends - Texture

Everywhere I look at the moment there is luxurious textures, from sofy fluffy knits, tough spikes or gorgeous wool tweeds and I am hooked!

I wanted to show you a few of my favourites.

This skirt is a gorgeous deep red with soft velvet, and needs to get in my wardrobe as soon as possible!

I love the simply pretty cut of this dress and love the shoulder studs, very simple for date night or a party.

I have been obsessing about this coat for quite a while now!

I NEED this cardigan, I love it in this grey colour and I think I would wear it until it fell apart, it looks so cozy!

I am not usually a fan of leather but I love the mixed materials and the stunning red colour of these ones and think I could be persuaded.

Again I like the use of mixed materials here, the tweed with the leather look sleeves is lovely

This dress is beautiful to me, I love the look of the lace with the nude/gold tones underneath.

Do you like you clothes to have texture? or do you like to keep it simple?
I am most definitely a fluffy jumper kind of girl!

SpecsPost

Well I had hoped to post this to you guys ages ago but life as usual got in the way!

I was sent 3 pairs of glasses by SpecsPost to try and choose which pair I would like made into my prescription.

So this is where my readers come in, I want you to help me choose which pair, and then once I receive them I will do a fabulous OOTD including them.

So these are the ones that I choose.

First up is the Zoe Deschanel Style Glasses, These are similar to the red pair I already have, so I know I like the shape and although it isn't easy to see here they have gorgeous orange/yellow specks on them.

Next are these gorgeous Pink retro cats eye glasses which I adore, but they come up a little bit small, I have quite a broad face and often find glasses dig in if the frames arent quite right, these it is only slightly apparent and I think that it will ease off completely with wear.

Next up are these awesome animal glasses, I totally adore them off my face but on they are my least favourite, mainly because although I am broad I do not have a very big face and I felt a little bit swamped by them, I have seen these on another blogger who totally and utterly rocked them! I am considering ordering them as a pair of sunglasses which I think will make them more wearable for me.

So these are my choices, which ones do you think are best?

Let me know in the comments or over twitter.

I Feel Good - September

When the lovely Vicky put a shout out to see if anyone would like to take part in a monthly challenge, I though I would find out more, I had failed miserably with the blog a day challenge so thought monthly would be a better option for me.

I have been really struggling to feel good about myself recently and this has reflected on my blogging, meaning I have been avoiding it!

This makes me really sad as I love my blog, but taking photos of myself has left me feeling so awful that at times it has sent me to my bed for a couple of days.

This is the concept of the blog that Vicky sent out to us.

You know sometimes when you spend ages getting ready for a night out, an event or even just a blog post, and the reflection in mirror isn't what you hoped? This challenge is for those times when you look in the mirror, no pre planning involved, and think "I look good today".We all have our good days and our bad, but this challenge is to record those good days and to remember that confidence, at any size, is beautiful.

The only 'rule' for this challenge is that you shouldn't use any photograph that you have used before. It can be an old photo or a new photo, as long as when you took it, you felt that you looked great.

I liked the idea of really finding a time when I felt good and having something to look back at and know that I can.

To be honest I almost had a total panic as I had not taken any pictures recently that I felt good in, but thaen today I was dying my hair and it was all wet and messy and I felt fabulous, I love changing my hair it always makes me happy, so I grabbed my camera and took a picture to see if I could feel as good in a photo as I did at that time.

Sorry for the not so great quality, but I can see I am in a good mood in this picture. Knowing that I can feel good even when in my hair dying scruffs and with wet hair is a good thing.

Check out the other gorgeous bloggers taking part!

Feel good lovelies!

Lifestyle - Bedrooms and beds

I will soon have some DIY posts, going live on the blog for you, I am going to show you our bedroom from bare walls to completion.

Before then though, I wanted to show you some of the items I am obsessing over and want for our new bedroom.

Starting with beds!

Ok, so me and my husband have broken 4 beds in 10 years, and it isn't as exciting as it sounds! two of them were broken when we were not even plus sized.

My favourite breaking, was when my husband thought he was hilarious and body slammed me into the bed WWE style, full on flipped me upside down and threw me on it, and bent the centre pole.

Yes we have been known to be a bit bonkers!

But now that we are plus sized, we are more aware of the wear and tear our beds take and as we are currently sleeping on the worlds cheapest small double divan bed I am just waiting for it to become bed number five! Before this bed we had been on a mattress on the floor after bed number 4 broke.
So we have decided that we need to spend more on our beds as cheap ones are really not up to the challenge!
We also plan to spend much more on a mattress as ours has already begun to sag and is awful to sleep on!

So these are some of the beauties we have our eye on.

Next have an amazing array of beds, I love the rustic white and cream metal ones best.
Source - prshots.com

Places like Bensons beds have huge selections of beds
They have some beautiful choices.

But all this searching got me thinking about what we need from a bed.

1. It needs to be a king size bed as a minimum, Marc is 6'2" and very broad shouldered, in a double his legs go off the end of the bed and we drive each other crazy with the lack of space.
2. It needs to be strong, 4 beds broken has shown us a bargain is not always the way to go.
3. the mattress needs to be firm and able to last a long time while supporting us.
4. It needs to be pretty!

With all these in mind I carried on my search but googled reinforced beds, I had expected to find dosgy hospital looking contraptions and that is mostly what I found, but I did come across one diamond in the rough, The reinforced bed company.

I love that they are a UK based company and make all the beds to order, the beds are extra strong for both plus size customers as well as people who just want a good strong bed, that will last.

The companies aim was to offer a bed that is not only strong but that is still beautiful to look at, and that is what drew me in for a full look around the website.

They offer a whole range of beds frames, from Wooded, Wrought Iron, Brass & Nickel to Divans so I had plenty to look at.

These were my favourites

This is the Arizona it like that it is simple but still really pretty!

I love this one it is called the Montana, I love the mix of brass with the ivory.

How lovely and warm is the colour of the antique brass on the Georgia

Now I could just keep going on and on with pictures but I wont drive you all mad, head on over to the website HERE and take a look around they really are gorgeous.

They also offer reinforced mattresses too, which I think is pretty awesome, hopefully no more collapsing mattresses!

I will also be putting up a little link in my side bar as I do not think that UK businesses get enough recognition, I think to be honest, I will most likely be saving up for one of these gorgeous beds as I know they are designed to take us and that they will look gorgeous in our room.

Do you love or loath your bed?
I want to love my next one!

In the Spotlight - ASOS Curve

Right now, I am feeling that being plus sized is pretty darn good, there are some new brands out there and the old ones are stepping up their game.

Today I am going to show you some of my favourite peices from Asos Curve.

Now ASOS are very hit and miss for me, I have had some terrible experiences with fit and materials, and always feel a bit insulted that at 32 I am too old to go to one of their fit days, but I am going to put these feelings aside for now as at the moment they are honestly rocking my world with their selection!

First up is this gorgeous Tartan pinafore dress, this is just so cute, I need to have this in my wardrobe! at 32 maybe I am too old for this, but I am in the middle of dying my hair blue so I guess I am aiming to grow old disgracefully!

I love the colours and mixed prints of this dress it is beautiful, I think I would cinch it in with a belt for nights out and just as it is with leggings for a casual look.

I have been obsessing over a parka for quite some time now, but I cant be doing with big bulky ones with huge fur trims as I am very short and find the make me look a little like a tiny eskimo! Oh but not this one, I love the leather details and the colour, perfect for my Autumn wardrobe.

I ordered a pair of jersey peg trousers from ASOS a while back and had to send them back as I found the material to be a bit too thin for my liking and knew they would become baggy and misshapen around the knee, I think though that for this print I would live with these faults as they are just so cute!

The last item I am showing you is this onesie, the marmite of the pyjama world, but with the colder weather sneaking in I am getting ready for the comfort of a onesie!

So they are my top picks from ASOS Curve right now and I really do want to buy them all as well as the skirt, blazer and jeans from my previous lust list post!

Fashion World - Wear Two Ways Boots

I was recently approached by the lovely Jayne to see if I would like to take part in the Wear two ways boots challenge, I jumped at the chance as I love a good pair of boots!

I asked for the boots to be sent to me in a size 6 curvy calf fitting and when they arrived I loved the fit, they feel lovely and soft, and fitted my legs nicely.

This will give you an idea what the boots look like, the buckle and strap come undone on the ankle boot, and they fit through two holes in the leg section (you can see on in the above image).

The nice warm tan colour is gorgeous, it goes with lots of items in my wardrobe so they will get lots of wear in both ways.

I am tempted to get myself the boots in black as well as then I have 4 pairs of versatile boots for the winter months.

I was also sent a gorgeous pair of jeans to wear with them, I opted to try the Chloe Super Stretch Skinny Jeans in Dark Teal I asked for them to be sent in a size 22, and it was in hindsight a mistake as they were perfect when I tried them on but very quickly became baggy, so I really wish I had asked for a 20 now. I will have to get a pair in the right size as the colour is just divine!

Here are the boots in the knee high way to wear.

The boots have a stretch panel in the back to give more room, and still look good!

I wore the boots with my beautiful bird print shirt, I cant wait for the weather to get a bit colder so I can get these on more often.

I did take some photos of me in the ankle boots with a dress on as well but they didnt come out, so I have included the picture of me in the above outfit showing the ankle boots and will add a dress picture as soon as I am able to re take the pictures.

The boots are a great width on the ankles for me, I often find ankle boots awkward as the zip rubs, but these gave me plenty of space.

These boots are not real leather but they feel lovely, and I think they may last well, I will find out as they are likely to be on my feet for most of the summer.

The lovely Fashion World are going to be featuring my post and the other bloggers taking part on their Facebook page so keep an eye out HERE for them.
