One Stop Plus Review

CELAIA Retro Printed Flounced Dress with Butterfly Sleeves

After plus london two One Stop Plus offered an apology and gift to the ladies who took part in the catwalk show due to the day being a bit of a crazy experience, I was a stand in and the day was pretty stressful and hard, but an experience I am still glad I tried, and one I may repeat at Plus North if my nerves don't get the better of me.

I choose this beautiful dress as my thank you item and I am glad I did, it is great for my wardrobe as I can dress it up or down and it is so comfy on.

it comes with a tie belt for the waist but his doesn't work for me as I have a very short waist, so I removed it and added a belt under my bust, but I could wear the tie belt but would need to move it up to where my natural waist actually falls.

I choose to dress it up for a night out, but I could just as easily have added trainers and a denim jacket for daytime.

It works well with simple flats and the belt.

But I decided to pair it with my heels and a bright open blazer for an evening look

And I loved the result.

I can no longer see the dress on the website but I am in love with the skirt and top which are in the same print and am tempted to see if they have the same good fit the dress has.

Thank you to Bex at One Stop Plus for her fabulous help and for the apology, I really did appreciate it.

Fashion Faceoff - Coloured Trousers

Coloured Trousers

This week It was Molly's turn to choose an item for us all to style, and her choice was Coloured trousers.

Now luckily I have a pair of gorgeous rich green skinny jeans so new I had something to wear, but I have hardly worn them yet, as I didn't know what to pair them with, but in the end I think I did ok.

I love the floral tunic and belt over the top, and fell cool and comfortable wearing the whole outfit, I need a better belt though as this one is a little on the small side.

What do you think.....

This is the swing I fell asleep on at the weekend, and later found out the neighbour had been looking over the fence because I was snoring, I am so classy :)

The tunic is from Evans last year, and I often slip it on with leggings and teamed it with a long sleeved red or blue top in the winter.

This is the beautiful bracelet my sister made for me, love it!

Jeans - Asda G21
Shoes - Newlook
Bracelet - Funk and Finery
Belt, off another dress.

Go see what the other girls are wearing in their interpretations of this weeks Fatshion Challenge.

Slink Magazine

Now if you follow my Twitter of Facebook, you will have likely seen me rave about Slink Magazine, It is fabulous, I have followed them through there first 4 online issues, and when I saw that they were going into print for the first time with issue 5, I knew I had to have a copy.

Slink Magazine is a plus fashion and lifestyle mag, which easily rivals the glossy fashion magazines on the shelves at the moment, I can identify more easily with the fashion and the articles.

Issue 5 is the relationships issue, but that doesn't mean dating and love stories, it is so much more.

This is the information the fabulous Editor in Chief Rivkie sent me to explain this issue..

The Relationship Issue focuses on not just on the age old fairytale of love but how we relate to different aspects in our life. From food, family, body and our wardrobe the way we feel about ourselves, other people and our material possessions the SLiNK team discusses exactly how they feel!
Alongside this we have 6 great Spring/Summer trends and how to best work them into your wardrobe, 3 great fashion stories, interviews with Whitney Thompson, the only plus size winner of ANTM, brand owner of Allistyle - Pam Shainhouse and the usual beauty, treatment, recipes, restaurant reviews, travel, motoring and culture!

I wasn't sure what to expect from the magazine, what the quality would be, but when it dropped through my door yesterday I couldn't have been happier, It feels like a magazine I could collect from my local WHSmiths, the paper is beautiful and thick, and as always the images and articles within are fabulous!

This is my very own copy!
Stunning cover Girl

An awesome article from the fabulous Becky Of the Ramblings of Mrs BeBE

Love the fashion tips

And the photo shoots always WOW me.

I cant stress enough how much I love this Magazine and I would love for it to gain the following and support it deserves to become huge!

You can purchase a printed copy of Slink magazine for £3.95 + P&P or you can order it in either digital PDF or ePub formats for £1.00 Here

Remember to check out the back issues too while you are there, they are fabulous.
I will be waiting excitedly for the May money issue to come out.

Fatshion Faceoff

Fatshion Challenge - Stripped Top

I recently asked if the gorgeous girls behind Fatshion Faceoff, had space for a little one, my blog is my way of challenging myself to try new things and the challenges the girls are setting looked fun.

So first of all thank you so much to the gorgeous Dani of diyfatshion, Hanna of the wardrobe challenge, Olivia of Wait until the sunset, Molly of Molly Pocket and Mouna of Brussels fatshion.

I cant wait to get stuck in. x

This week it is olivia's turn to pick an item to style for the challenge, and her choice this week was a Stripped top, I almost panicked as I have nothing stripped, until I remembered I had bought a stripped pastel jumper a few weeks ago, that had become buried in the mess of my wardrobe.

It is pretty casual but as I have no jeans at the moment I decided to put something together to pop out with my mum on sunday for some lunch.

This is what I came up with!

I teamed the NEw Look striped top with a Black maxi skirt from New Look and and a Black jersey Blazer from Next.

I am not sure this is exactly how I want to wear this top, but I felt comfortable and confident out and about in it, but I do need to take the skirt up a little as I have to hike it up under my boobs to keep it off the floor.

WEll that was my interpretation, a bit boring, but i will get more adventurous as I get more confident in the challenges I am sure :) x

Review - IGIGI

A while ago I was offered the chance to review a dress of my choice from IGIGI, I was so excited the clothing they make looks so beautiful, with bold patterns and gorgeous colours, so I searched through the site trying to decide which ones I love the most.

Now as you can tell from my blog, I have a bit of a penchant for Circle skirts and flowing dresses, so i decided to push my fashion boundaries and try something new, something terrifyingly fitted, it was a huge challenge to myself as I do not wear fitted clothing!

The dress I chose was the Nicole dress in Berry, when it arrived I was not disappointed, the cut colours and material is amazing, it is a lovely thick jersey type material  (Material: Poly/Viscose/Elastane Double Knit).

I choose to order a US size 14/16 as the last dress I ordered from the US in an 18/20 was big on me, the fit is almost perfect, even has a little room on the bust, which is surprising with my ample bosom, at the moment, I am a little bloated for some reason, so there was a bit of VBO going on, but I could easily solve this with a body shaping dress under, I just need to decide which one to try.

so some pictures of me in the dress...

The colour is fabulous, and even with the slight VBO is still felt amazing in it.

The ladies were happy in there!

Tried to show you the material it is lovely and thick, doesn't crease easily and falls nicely. x

Just wanted to show the pretty necklace i got in the sale a while ago.

Arghhh VBO, but not sure I really care. x

There are so many dresses available on the IGIGI website and I want everyone in the UK to know about them, the quality and fit of this dress is amazing, I wouldn't be able to size up in this as my shoulders would just be too narrow for the 18/20 so happy to stick a shape wear piece under.

I really want to try one of the maxi dresses to see what the fit and material is like they look amazing, my favourites are

and I would also love to try one of there gorgeous feminine wrap circle style dresses, my favourite is the Paloma, the colour is perfect for me.

Take a look at IGIGI they are stunning and well worth the price.

OOTD

This outfit was from last week, but i felt really unconfident at the time, I was modelling some of my sisters jewellery for her, and wore my yellow shoes to photograph them ready to sell.

But after a few days I have taken a look back at them and I like how i look, and love the dress, which I snapped up in the New Look sale for £12.

This dress is so comfy, the big store in stevenage still has them in the sale so snap one up if you can.

No Idea what I am looking at, but the picture made me smile.

My fabulous sister has just made me a cuff similar to this one but in silver with green beads, it is divine and I will wear it with an outfit this week to show it off, I am still so so proud of her. xx

Outfit Ideas

Simply Be Belted Jersey Dress.

Being on a tight budget means I have to think long and hard about purchasing a new item for my wardrobe, I have to consider, will it work with what I already have, is it versatile enough to have multiple uses, and travel across seasons.

This Jersey Belted dress from simply be fits my list perfectly, I find florals like this can be used year round as it isn't so ditzy a print as to be considered too trendy, i love prints like this and wear them year round to brighten my days.

here are how I  see it working for me and my wardrobe.

I love the details the belt and peter pan collar are great.

Do you, regardless of personal budget, take these things into consideration when you buy a new item for your collection?

Asos Curve

Can you win me over?

I keep seeing so many items on ASOS that I fall instantly in love with, but after seeing so many posts from other bloggers last year about sizing issues and quality problems, I have been holding back, especially as the one Item I did buy I was very unimpressed with and ended up cutting it up and making it into a maxi skirt from a dress.

but recently I have been finding myself clicking on my bookmark for the site and looking at the clothing over and over!

here are a few of my favourite items at the moment...

Aqua Maxi Dress £30
Butterfly Print Dress £38
Midi Dress with Cross Back £65

Peplum Skirt £30
Multi Colour Midi Dress £35
Aqua Midi Skirt £35
Birdcage Dress £38

Oh there are so many pretty things I really want but do I trust the quality and fit enough to spend my money with them?

Just a quick outfit post from this weekend, Had a crazy day yesterday, clearing the garden, and tidying up the house, so spent the whole day in joggers and t-shirts (High Fashion I know).

But I thought I would show you how I looked on saturday in the ridiculously popular swallow dress from New Look, it has taken the blogging world by storm, I picked mine up in the sale last week, and I have to say it is ridiculously comfortable, I teamed it with black tights and coral coloured flats also from the sale.

My other half chopped my head off, whoops :)

I liked this photo!

Dress - Newlook (sold out)
Coral Flats - Newlook £6

I hadn't planned on buying the dress, as so many had already blogged it, but for £12 i just couldn't say no, and I am glad i didn't.

What did you all get up to this weekend, was it as exciting as my dump runs and cleaning?

Collection challenge

Recently the lovely Kathryn of MissKathryn's MissTakes asked us if we fancied joining her in the challenge to show our collections be it items from 1 brand, dresses, shoes, just a little insight into our personalities and what we obsess over!

I decided to join in and my first collection is just a small portion or my obsession, it is not fashion related and is something I have loved since I was about 3!

READING

For as long as I can remember I have loved reading, but when I hit secondary school I really became obsessed, I was put into the lowest english groups because I struggled with spelling and grammar, they couldn't work out how such a avid reader couldn't spell, sometimes even simple words, it wasn't until my GCSE's that my then english teacher asked if I was dyslexic, and I still didn't get any help till I went to college, but I digress, the first collection I am going to show you is my passion for horror books, this started when I was about 11 and fell in love with point horror books, I very quickly progressed to stealing my mums copies of Stephen King books she had in the house and my obsession began.

So many people bash King for not being intellectual enough and the books being simple, but do you know what screw people like that I read books that I love, not to make me look clever or cool in the eyes of friends and commuters.

King makes me happy!

I have many other authors I love not all horror either, including Dean Koontz, Jasper Fforde, Raymond E Feist, but I love buying books so my collection can get ridiculous, I don't often donate books as I read them over and over, but I do buy my paper backs from charity shops as I destroy them :)

Here is my King collection, I have read almost every book he has written and own nearly all of them too, a some are missing from here that I have lent out, and some are in storage boxes so the official collection is quite a bit bigger.

Excuse the Dodgy pink sofa :) it was given to us to replace our awful old uncomfortable ones!

I read my paperbacks so many times that by the time I am ready to replace them they are falling apart

the next 2 pictures show The Stand and IT which I am on 3rd or 4th copies of these ones have been read at least 6 times each now.

I call them well loved!

My biggest love of all his books are his Dark Tower series I waited years between books to finish the collection and squealed with joy when I found out his new book in this series will be release in April and that they are hoping to make a TV adaption and a film of it!

I have the comics and hard back graphic novel versions too!

Well that is one of my obsessions out in the open, my whole collection of books may have to be dragged out at some point!

Quite a few other Gorgeous bloggers are joining in the fun and showing us some of their obsessions go take a look at these too!
